Fiona and Rory married at Casa do Lago, Quinta do Lago, a waterfront venue where the light off the lagoon does most of the work.
The ceremony came first at a whitewashed church nearby, arched entrance dressed in white flowers and greenery, Fiona walking the cobbled street on her father's arm before the aisle. Rory broke from black tie in a tailored beige suit, a choice that carried through the whole day, warm tones against white stone, sand, and water.
After the church, the couple headed back to Casa do Lago for portraits around the grounds, sunglasses on, no direction needed. They know how to be photographed without performing for it.
The reception unfolded along Casa do Lago's wooden boardwalk as the sun dropped into the lagoon, dinner under string lights, and a dance floor that ran well past midnight. Somewhere between the toasts and the last song, the day stopped being an event and just became theirs.
